The Jewish Home of Eastern PA Letter from Leadership

May 8, 2020

Dear Families and Caregivers,

As we close out another week during this very uncharted time, we wanted to provide a few updates.

New guidance has been issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding how nursing homes are to make notifications to residents and families about COVID-19. We will be complying with the new CMS guidance, so you can expect to receive future notifications from us in the new format. We’ll be sending the first notification in the next 24-hours.

This past week, Rabbi Samuel Sandhaus, a beloved member of the Home’s family for decades, provided two beautiful online Zoom services for families of residents while it was also shown to residents on all the floors. His words of healing were especially comforting during these times.

We’re honoring our dedicated nurses during National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and then the extended team during national Skilled Nursing Care Week (May 10-16). Check out the Home page on our website for features on many of our nurses and staff. Their work has always been essential, but now more than ever!

Mother’s Day is Sunday, and we want to wish all of you a happy, healthy Mother’s Day. For those of you who aren’t able to be with your moms on Sunday, we will be delivering flowers and chocolates for all the moms, so rest assured we know how you feel – and how they feel! We’re doing all we can to make sure everyone knows they are well cared for and loved!

Stay safe!
