We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our masking and social distancing protocols for our facility.
Important news! As discussed in our letter last week, the positivity rate in our county is increasing. As of this week CDC as listed the community transmission rate at a high or red level. Please see https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view
As a result we have made changes to our visitation and out of building therapeutic leaves effective September 15, 2021 for residents in our green zones. These changes are being made for the safety of all of our residents and staff in our building.
- Outside of building therapeutic leaves for all residents such as meals or day trips are suspended until the rate returns to a safer level.
- The minimum age for visiting children is 12 years or older this includes both vaccinated and non-vaccinated children.
- The location for visits for non-vaccinated families and friends will be changed from the resident’s room to our outside patio or designated inside area on our first floor. Our staff will transport the residents to and from these visits. Time slots available for non-vaccinated visitors will be limited to Monday through Thurs from 10:00- 11:00 am and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm for 30 minutes. Limited times will be available on weekends. These visits will be scheduled one time per week per resident as our staff will transport residents to and from the visits. This is being done to limit the potential exposure for our residents and families from non-vaccinated visitors to other residents and staff in our building.
There is no change to our visiting guidelines for vaccinated visitors. Please refer to our website at https://jhep.org/covid-19-updates/ for the specific visitation guide.
Full vaccinations are at the forefront of safety for staff and residents. We encourage all, including family members and volunteers, to become vaccinated. Find vaccines near you: https://www.vaccines.gov/search. For information about vaccinations, please check the CDC’s fact sheet. We also continue to be able to offer resident families to participate in our vaccine clinic at the Jewish Home through our pharmacy. If interested please contact Denise Skrzysowski, RN, our Infection Control Preventionist at dskrzysowski@jhep.org or 570-344-6177 extension 1173. We are pleased to be able to offer this service to help control the spread of COVID 19. Due to the delivery of the vaccine, vaccination can only occur during the week at this time.
We take very seriously our responsibility for your loved one’s safety and well-being. If you have any questions, we are always available for you. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Mary Rose Applegate, MBA, RD, NHA
