Elan Gardens and the Jewish Home are excited to announce the pilot project in collaboration with Somatix. Somatix is a provider of wearable-enabled RPM (Remote Patient Monitoring) software platform for healthcare.
This product is the first of its kind, offering a completely passive remote patient monitoring (RPM) of users’ health and well-being using our unique gesture detection technology.
The wearable band, SafeBeingTM, can track and analyze daily routines of seniors in real time.
Elan Gardens launched the program in February 2020 and Jewish Home launched this program in March for rehab clients. This is a great way to assist our rehab patients in understanding their needs and how to help them with recovery. We can then help them get to their previous living setting.
The program is designed to detect sleeping patterns, walking / fall patterns and hydration. These are all areas that need to be monitored to establish good overall health and healing. We are excited with the data gathered in this initial launch.
Each resident also has the security to activate an additional safety feature should they require additional help, by pressing an emergency feature which will set an alert for staff or caregivers. This is a revolutionary tool is changing the way elders and rehab patients receive healthcare.
Mark D. Weiner, CEO of the Jewish Home of Eastern PA comments, “We are most excited to partner with Somatix. The introduction of this advanced technology will be of great benefit to our residents. We are hopeful the pilot study will lead us to broader application at Jewish Home of Eastern PA and Elan Gardens and eventually in the community.”
