An Update from The Leadership at The Jewish Home – July 31th

July 31, 2020

Dear Residents, Families and Caregivers,

The Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania thanks you for entrusting us with caring for your loved ones. We strive daily to provide the very best in care. We are keeping our residents safe as we continue the transition to the new normal.

WE CARE

The WE CARE form is now accessible from the JHEP website. As we communicated a few weeks ago, WE CARE concern rack cards are located throughout the Jewish Home in order to achieve continuous improvement to your customer service experience. This gives you an additional method of communication if you have a concern we need to address. We are committed to your satisfaction.  Because visitation is restricted and currently you are not able to access them at JHEP due to COVID-19, these cards are

now presented on the website. Please visit  https://jhep.org/about/we-care-contact/.

Testing

We are once again pleased to announce that the results of this week’s COVID-19 testing were negative for both the residents and staff. This is the second week of testing with no COVID-19 positive tests. This means we are now able to begin the development of a reopening plan because we went 14 consecutive days without any positive COVID results and no new respiratory symptoms.

This also allows us to increase the size and type of socially distanced group activities offered to our residents. We still have to remain free from positive cases developing in- house as we move through the three steps of reopening to the next level for visits.

In the event that any residents have a positive test, we will move back in our steps and return to weekly testing. We have upgraded to patio visits and will notify you about the schedule in the near future.

Please watch for our reopening plan, which will be posted on website as well as specific directions and guidance in next week’s letter.

As a reminder, JHEP set up an automated toll-free number that is updated daily with information about any new COVID-19 positives. That number is 570-207-6711.

Exciting News from JHEP

Please remember to check our Facebook page for pictures of activities occurring during

the week, including pictures from our “Dog Days of Summer Week” events.

Next week, we are planning western-themed events. No rodeos will be happening, but I

am sure our residents will be having some fun!

Please stay safe and we hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,
